Dr. Salman Ahmad Khan ( Pulmonologist )
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Salman Ahmad Khan Pulmonologist F.C.P.S (Pulmonology)
has joined Kulsum International Hospital.
The international Nursing Day was celebrated at Kulsum International Hospital on
14th of May 2011.
The ceremony was organized to appreciate and recognize the efforts of nurses in
the field of medical care. The ceremony opened up with recitation from Holy Quran.
Chief Operating officer Dr. Saleem Khan addressed the nurses acknowledging the pivotal
role played by them in the running of a hospital. CEO Mrs. Hoor Yousafzai proceeded
to address the nurses and expressed that the importance of nursing care should be
acknowledged at all occasions and not just restricted to a single day or week. She
said that it's the round the clock monitoring, care and supervision of the nursing
staff that helps a patient recover and hence it’s the most vital part of the whole
healthcare process. She emphasized the importance of on job training and promised
that trainings and workshops will be a continuous progressive part of their careers
at KIH.
The CEO then presented all the nursing staff with souvenirs and a certificate of
appreciation as a token of acknowledgment.
The ceremony concluded with tea served at the cafeteria. KIH management ensures
that any important issue celebrated internationally is highlighted at KIH to remain
at par with the international medical community.
Regional medical advisor for the British High Commission Mr. David E Gaskell visited
KIH
The regional medical advisor for the British High Commission Mr. David E Gaskell
visited KIH on May 6th 2011. KIH management was delighted to welcome
him to the hospital. COO KIH Dr. Saleem accompanied him on a tour of the hospital.
Mr. Gaskell expressed that he looks forward to an ongoing relationship with KIH.
KIH has promised healthcare to all especially to those who are here on diplomatic
missions from abroad and are looking for a healthcare provider who could look after
medical emergencies.
Ambassador of Sudan Mr. Muhammed Omer Musa visits KIH
The ambassador of Sudan Mr. Muhammed Omer Musa made a visit to
Kulsum International Hospital, on 30th April 2011. He expressed
great satisfaction over the arrangements and facilities available at the hospital
for patients. KIH management was honored to have his presence and promises to offer
premier healthcare services to all Sudan nationals working at the embassy or elsewhere.
We welcome our brothers and sisters at KIH and promise excellent and most efficient

The ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain His Excellency Mohammad Ibrahim Mohammad
Abdul Qadir, the ambassador of Libya His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Al
Abid Mukhtar and The ambassador of Syria Dr. Ali Muhra
visited Kulsum International Hospital on the 19th of April, 2011.
They appreciated KIH effort to bring state of the art healthcare services to capital.
And complimented the standards maintained at the hospital. They had a round of the
hospital with the COO KIH Dr. Saleem Khan and gave their blessings for the good
cause that KIH vows to present to their patients.

KIH is honored to announce that Maj Gen (R) Waqar Ahmed HI(M) is operating at KIH
from Monday to Thursday between 9 :00 to 5:00 pm . KIH Management is pleased to
have him aboard and welcomes him. KIH will continue to bring expert physicians from
all over Pakistan to provide you premier healthcare services.
Dr Sara Naeem
Our New dermatologist Dr Sara Naeem has joined KIH. She will be available from Monday
to Thursday at KIH clinic. KIH management welcomes her aboard and wishes that the
partnership will work towards bringing people quality skincare with state of the
art facilities.
Training Session
A three day's training session was held at Kulsum International Hospital
on January 4-6, 2011. The session provided training for the nurses, paramedical
staff and the PCD department a training in Public dealing & customer Handling, Dealing
with difficult/Aggressive Customer, Communication skills in hospital setting, BLS
(nurses), BLS (paramedics), ACLS, Service Excellence, Service Excellence, Hospital
Management, Quality Management System & ISO Implementation.
The workshop was conducted by Ms. Amina Lakhani, Assistant Manager, Nursing Education
Services, Agha Khan University Hospital, Ms. Fahmida Mehdi, Clinical Nurse Specialist,
Ambulatory Care Areas, AKUH and Ms. Zehra Habib, Head Nurse, AKUH.
During this three-day training session, attendees learnt about the procedures helping
them groom their communication skills, to better handle a customer and assuring
service excellence, and developed advanced planning skills for better hospital management
and quality management system.
The session began with a one-day basic training following structured exercises to
master the basics of Customer Handling. The structured exercises were designed to
introduce the fundamentals of communication skills, public dealing, service excellence,
hospital management and customer handling in a way that builds knowledge step by
step and is easy to understand. Such trainings and workshops are a regular part
of KIH progressive approach towards enhancing employee skills.
Dr Iqbal Saifullah concluded the workshop thanking the AKUH Management and by presenting
them with honorary shields.
